and Services
for The following is a listing of current Ministry of Money programs and services provided for judicatories and individual congregations: Standard Money and Faith Retreat: This retreat is the cornerstone of the Ministry of Money. Normally a Friday evening through Sunday lunch event, participants will explore and address money and faith issues from scriptural, personal, economic and social justice viewpoints. Worship, silence, journaling, small group discussion, large group dialogue, presentations, an opportunity to look at ‘next steps’ and a variety of activities will assist people to look deeper at the place of money in their lives and how it intersects with their spirituality. Retreatants stay overnight at a retreat center and share their meals together. Two to three Ministry of Money staff and one musician facilitate this event.Short Weekend Money and Faith Retreat: This one and one-half day retreat is generally scheduled for Friday evening and all day Saturday and includes a shared lunch on Saturday Noon. Retreatants do not stay overnight and generally commute from their homes. This abbreviated retreat includes worship, two presentations, two small group sessions, and provides a general overview of the Ministry of Money. This event is staffed by 2-3 Ministry of Money staff members and one musician. Half-Day Retreat or Conference Presentation: This customized half-day event is an introduction to the Ministry of Money and the intersection of one’s money and resources through abbreviated worship, small group discussion and large group presentation. This event is staffed by 1-2 Ministry of Money staff members. Seminar/Conference Presentation: This customized 1-2 hour presentation is an overview of the Ministry of Money and issues of money and faith. This event is staffed by one Ministry of Money staff member. Special Topic Retreats: Ministry of Money currently provides two special topic retreats. Each is staffed by 2-3 Ministry of Money staff members. The Giving Retreat - a Friday evening through Sunday noon money and faith retreat that looks at the how, what and why of giving. The Clergy and Spouse Retreat - a midweek 2-day retreat which focuses on issues of money and faith specific to clergy and their families. Sunday Morning Church Service: Ministry of Money can provide staff or volunteers to visit your congregation and share a Sunday morning message on money and faith with your members. Pilgrimage of Reverse Mission Trip Leadership: Ministry of Money can provide the leadership for a pilgrimage of reverse mission to third world countries or to U.S. inner cities for a group from your congregation or organization. Using the Ministry of Money pilgrimage model, staff would help your group plan the trip and then provide pre-trip preparatory materials and trip leadership throughout the actual pilgrimage. Ministry of Money currently provides pilgrimage experiences in the Caribbean, Africa, South and Central America, Israel/Palestine, India, urban Baltimore, Maryland and urban Camden, New Jersey.
